Blackwatch Tartan
The Blackwatch Tartan was originally created for a British Army unit formed in 1725 to patrol the Scottish Highlands, eventually becoming the famous regiment. The name "Black Watch" comes from the dark colors of the tartan, which helped soldiers blend into the landscape, and the nature of their duty to "watch" over the Highlands.
